Many businesses (like Glide) perform "jobs" for business or consumer clients.

It may be a service, the manufacture of some product, the supply of resold goods – and often it is a mix of these, perhaps with some other cost recoveries added.

The essence is that we need to track:

• the progress of a job, to ensure it's on target
• all the time spent and things done and bought and used that relate to the job, so we can fully invoice and validate the invoice as required

There are several tools around that do this, but they are mostly industry specific and/or they have per seat licence fees which cost more and more as your business grows.

JACK is simpler, does the job with more flexibility and no seat licence fees. And it can be web-based, so it's available anywhere the internet is.

On-line flexibility

JACK can be hosted on your existing server (also you don't pay hosting costs) but will then be available only in your office.

If you also take hosting, it will be available via any internet connection, so you can work on job records from home, for example.

Costs

JACK costs $900 to $500 including GST plus $15 per month for hosting.

It includes two hours of live training and business hours telephone support over the first three month.

Minor updates are included within the life of the purchased version (typically 12 months). Major updates (new version number) are available at an upgrade discount of 50% within six months of release. If a major update is released within three months of your purchase you will receive that update for free. You can continue to use a version after a new version has been released, for as long as you want, but after a while it may not be supported.
